Diet for your dog in diabetic condition should have minimal amount of carbohydrates, sugar and sodium. Instead of the branded food from stores, it would be safer to feed your dog with food from home. This will ensure the right food for your dog. The entire intake in terms of meat should be lean. Commercial semi-moist food should be totally avoided as they contain quite a lot of sugar. Vegetables are a good source of fibre for your dog. They will help in digestion and will also help with internal cleansing. Pumpkins, broccoli and carrots are rich source of fibre.

In case if you are unable to feed your dog with home food and have to rely on the commercial food then make sure you get the ones that are specific for dogs with diabetes. Try and make sure that you feed your dog with liquids, so that it would be easy to digest. Take them out for regular exercise, this is a must and can be beneficial for both the dog and the owner.
